If we do not change our way of life, we run the risk of life itself. At the opening of Monday’s OSN climate change summit in New York, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said it. The headliner – star of the conference was also a Swedish activist Greta Thunberg also spoke on Summit with an emotional speech that degrades the OSN Climate Action Summit to real Piece of Sh*t (read author comment at the end of the article).

In his speech, UN Secretary-General Guterres listed several disasters that have hit the country in recent months and stressed that this July was the hottest month ever. “The glaciers are melting; forest fires arise, the deserts are expanding, storms are much stronger and more deadly,” he said. “We must stop the climate crisis until it’s too late,” he added.

Swedish activist Greta Thunberg on climate change summit

Greta was the face of a global movement for action against a changing climate, sharply criticized political leaders for their inaction and indifference at the summit.” In your empty words, you stole my dreams and my childhood. And yet I’m one of the happier ones. People suffer and die. If you leave us down, our generation will never forgive you,” activist Greta Thunberg said.

She criticized the world leaders in their emotional expression for their inaction to combat climate change.

“We are in the midst of a climate breakdown, and you are talking only about money and fairy tales about constant economic growth. How dare you come here and say that you are doing enough when the necessary policies and solutions are still not in sight,” she continued. “Today, we will not find out any solutions or plans because the real numbers are too annoying. And you’re still not mature enough to say it as it is,” she added.

“I shouldn’t be here, I should be at school, across the ocean,” activist Greta Thunberg said indignantly. “But the change is coming, whether you like it or not. We will follow you,” the activist concluded her spontaneous speech.
“Nature is angry. And we are deceiving ourselves when we think we can fool nature because nature always strikes back,” the UN chief said on Monday. “Everything costs and it is most worth not to do anything,” Guterres added.

Small countries on OSN Summit 2019

Slovak President Zuzana Caputova also spoke at the conference. “We have a debt to the planet, and we have to change our lifestyle. But it will only be successful if the welfare of all people, even the most vulnerable, is increased,” she said. German Chancellor Angela Merkel promised to double its contribution to the UN Fund to help less developed countries combat climate change.

Pope Francis sent his video message

He called for responsibility and courage to face “one of the most serious and most disturbing phenomena of our time.”, said Pope Francis to the New York auditory of the OSN climate change summit participants

Despite expectations, US President Trump also came

But he only appeared for a brief moment. Last year, Trump announced a decision to withdraw from the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, in which the US undertook its predecessor Obama under the rule of the government.

Thunberg’s work has inspired the establishment of the student movement on Friday for the Future. Under her’s patronage students strike instead of Friday’s classes and demand stronger action against environmental degradation. More than four million people in 163 countries participated in the latest global strike and demonstration campaign for better climate protection last Friday.

OSN Climate Change Summit New York, 2019

Author comment: To be honest, I can’t understand this OSN show. Climate change is a real problem. These fellows in good looking suites – with their PR articles and speech prepared by marketing heroes. Bored politics with a zero level of responsibility – playing “telenovela” kind of political games. As a bonus, they use for publicity a mentally weak 16-year-old lady. Teenager. 16 years old. No common sense, no college, no university, no research experience, nothing – only a wash-brainy eco-words by a confused child. OSN Climate Action Summit falls down from a serious event to the real piece of sh*t!
